Keeping Each Other Safe - Service Update 24th August 2020

Firstly, and most importantly, thank you to all our clients, old and new, who remain understanding and patient while we navigate a new way of providing care for your pets whilst keeping each other safe.  

We are introducing changes at the practice and this will be ongoing, but for now and until further notice, our service will be as follows:

Opening hours

  • Reduced weekday opening hours of 9am-6pm; Saturdays 9am-12pm 

Appointments

  • Please telephone the surgery to book appointments.  See ‘Visiting the Practice’ below,

Payment

  • Please telephone the practice to make payment unless we are able to take contactless payment on the day.

Surgical procedures

  • We are now able to carry out emergency and standard procedures, including neutering and dentals.  Please be aware that there may be slightly longer wait times for routine ops while we work to clear the backlog of needs while we had to run a more restricted service.

Telephone appointments

  • We may still offer you a telephone consultation if we are unable to offer an appointment on the day and where it is practicable to do so; please note these appointments will have a consultation charge.  

Repeat medication, worming and flea control medication, and food orders

  • Please phone the practice (01932 855856) or email ([email protected]), giving your surname, pet’s name and required medication/food and where possible please provide an up-to-date weight of your pet.  Please do leave a message if we are unable to take your call.  We are receiving an extremely high volume of calls at the moment, but we will always get back to you as soon as we are able.
  • When your items are ready for collection, we will contact you, taking payment over the phone (see ‘Visiting the practice’ and ‘Self-isolating and vulnerable clients’ below).

Visiting the practice

  • On arrival please wait outside and phone, when necessary, to let us know you have arrived.  
  • If your visit is for an appointment, in most cases we will treat your pet without the need for you to come into the practice, but please be assured you will receive a face- to-face consultation at the door both prior to and after your appointment.  In the unlikely event that it should be necessary for you to enter, which will be at the vet’s discretion, appropriate PPE must be worn and social distancing strictly adhered to.
  • If collecting medication or food, we will bring this out to you.

Self-isolating and vulnerable clients

  • Please note we will deliver pet medicines and diets to our clients who are self-isolating or vulnerable.

Keeping you informed

  • Over the coming weeks we will amend this notice as appropriate to keep you up to date with developments and any changes we have implemented, so please do keep an eye on our website for further guidance

In the event of a temporary closure 

  • If it should become necessary for us to close temporarily, one of our associate practices or our Out of Hours practice will be able to treat your pets in the case of a medical emergency and appropriate messages will be left on our answerphone and on the website.
